Below you will find 5 documents for download. Unsure of how many people you will have access to, I have provided for about 40 people. If you wish to print more, please do. You can use these at functions, parties, school, work, friends, tweetups and even door to door, should you wish. If you go out to eat w/ people while there, make it game by telling people they aren't allowed to leave until they've donated. Things like that lighten the atmosphere and can work surprisingly well.
Preparation is the key to doing this smoothly. Setup and use for each of the attached documents is below. Make sure you will have pockets or a pouch to put donations into as well as keep the different “cards” to give to donors and those who say they want the website info. A fanny pack isn’t stylish but it can work. Multiple pockets is how I usually work. Figure out what works for you and go with it.
Items you will need for home preparation and location work:
- Printer and paper, color doesn’t matter
- Scissors or equivalent
- Stapler
- A clipboard or piece of firm cardboard. (I use cardboard box flaps)
- 3 ink pens that work
- Rubber band
Document 1: Fundraising Kit Bullets
How to prepare: Print and memorize. Quiz at noon. J/K. I’d print 3 copies so that multiples can read at once.
How to use: Keep handy on site to use as openers, answer questions or to let people read.
Document 2: Fundraising Kit Donation Record
How to prepare: Print this document. Staple all pages together to a piece of firm cardboard or put into a clipboard. Put the rubber band around the cardboard/clipboard to hold the pages down. The rubber band will help hold the paper in place and when you move to the next page, it helps hold the used page back.
How to use: Once the person has decided to donate, take their donation and hand them this form with a pen. Please ask them to print clearly so @bph and I can read their names and make sure it gets put on the website properly. As they complete this form, mark the donation (using the next document) and put it in your container.
Document 3: Fundraising Kit Marker
How to prepare: Print this document. Using scissors or other cutting tool, cut these slips apart and staple them together placing the staple in a “blank” area, leaving room for tearing pieces off.
How to use: Once the donor gives you the donation and the donor is filling out the record, fill out this marker and enclose the donation around it. Each donation should have a donation marker assigned to it in some way. Folding it inside while on location is easy, but if you prefer tape or staples, pick your pleasure.
Document 4: Fundraising Kit Cards
How to prepare: Print this document. The Unanimous logo is in color but if you don’t have a color printer it is ok. Once printed, cut the “cards” apart, put into a neat pile and staple them together in a “blank” area, leaving enough room for the card to be torn off without tearing the text.
How to use: After the Record is filled out and the money marked, give them this “card” so that they can go to the website and learn more about the project as well as see their name appear.
Document 5: Unanimous Website Cards
How to prepare: Print this document. Logo is in color but it isn’t necessary. Once printed, cut the “cards” apart, put into a neat pile and staple them together in a “blank” area, leaving enough room for the card to be torn w/o tearing the text.
How to use: If people say they can’t donate today,or blah blah blah, give them a card pointing them to the website. They can donate through the website and also find other ways to contribute.
